The Art Williams and Harry Wendt Aeronautical Engineering School yesterday sent 42 graduates into the world of work, following its 17th annual graduation and prize giving ceremony that was held at the Wings Aviation Ltd hangar at Ogle.
Giving the Aviation Address, Pilot Linden Hillman of Southwest Airlines told the graduands that they should always have a purpose in life and that all their dreams can come true if they have the courage to pursue them.
The ceremony honoured a group of young men who showed bravery and strength when they saved a young man’s life when he took in with a seizure at the Giftland Mall, putting to work the training in first aid they had learnt at the aeronautical school.
Best Graduating Student Lennox Canterbury, in a vote of thanks, thanked lecturers, family and colleagues who have been with them throughout the years. He also encouraged his other fellow students who are set to graduate next year, to hold on and to never give up on their goals.
Those in attendance at the small ceremony included First Lady Sandra Granger, members of the diplomatic corps, Captain Malcolm Chan-A-Sue, Chief Executive Officer of the aeronautical school and its Executive Manager Nalini Chanderban, among others.
