Spectacles for schoolchildren

The Lions Club of Durban Park in collaboration with Ming’s Optical presented spectacles to school children from West Ruimveldt Primary, Tucville Primary, Enterprise Primary, South Ruimveldt Primary and East Ruimveldt Primary on Wednesday.

A release from the club said that annually, the Lions Club of Durban Park organises Eye Screening for school children in October to commemorate World Sight Day. Over one hundred school children were screened and the ones needing further examination were identified.

Ming’s Optical facilitated eye examinations at their Clinics and provided spectacles for twenty two children. This year, a few seven and eight year old children received spectacles but the majority were from Grade 3 and Grade 4 classes, aged nine to eleven years old, the release said.
