Suspect held, stolen jeep found after Hillfoot farmer’s murder

A suspect in the murder of farmer Anthony Breedy was arrested yesterday, moments after a stolen vehicle belonging to the dead man was found abandoned at Nabaclis, East Coast Demerara.

The suspect had been identified as a 28-year-old man of Timehri, Hill Top, who has reportedly told investigators that he and the two other suspects went to a house in South Ruimveldt after the murder, where they split the loot among themselves.

Under interrogation, the suspect has also allegedly said that he concealed a stolen ATM card from his two accomplices and had plans of taking the stolen vehicle to Berbice to sell it.

He is known to the police since he was arrested previously for breaking and entering and larceny and possession of narcotics.

Breedy was discovered dead at his Hillfoot, Soesdyke/Linden home on Monday,
