President David Granger (left), this afternoon, presented two hampers to Charles Allicock of Herstelling, East Bank Demerara, when he joined with him to celebrate his 100th birthday.
A release from the Ministry of the Presidency said that Allicock, who was born on March 21, 1916, had often expressed a desire to meet the President. As such, they wrote to President Granger inviting him to join in the centenary birthday celebrations, which was organised by Allicock’s caretaker, Bibi Fagu, and his neighbours.
