Taxi driver killed in Le Destin crash

Dead: Derron Elexey, called “Spice”

A taxi driver died late Monday night after he hit a car he was attempting to overtake and crashed along Le Destin Public Road, East Bank Essequibo.

Dead is Derron Elexey, 31, called “Spice” of De Kinderen, West Coast Demerara, who sustained severe head injuries in the accident, which occurred around 11.30pm.

Elexey was taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police, in a statement, said investigations revealed that Elexey was driving a car along Le Destin Public Road
