Narine Samsudeen, the welder who was shot twice on Thursday by a gunman during an attempted robbery on Regent Street, is in a stable condition in the hospital.

Samsudeen sustained two gunshot wounds, including one to his abdomen, and underwent surgery at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) to remove the bullet. After remaining unconscious up to Friday, the welder has now regained consciousness and has been admitted to the male ward, his father-in-law Fazal Ally told Stabroek News.
