Education Ministry to rollout schools’ breakfast programme

Minister of Education Dr Rupert Roopnaraine yesterday met with the local members of the West Indies Women’s T20 team and the Under-19 Men’s team. Roopnaraine told the group that is he pleased about the example they are setting in sports, while highlighting his desire to see sports once again become an integral part of the school experience. The Ministry of Education is working to initiate an in-school breakfast programme to benefit children attending public schools throughout the country.

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) report, Minister of Education, Dr Rupert Roopnaraine, in a recent interview, explained that this programme will make it possible for all children in government schools to receive a nutritious breakfast every school day.
