Shots were yesterday fired at a police vehicle while it was traversing James Street in Albouystown. No one was injured.
Stabroek News understands that as the canter occupied by a group of police ranks passed through the street, shots were fired by a lone gunman. The ranks returned fire but the gunman escaped.
One resident of the community, told Stabroek News that he was standing in front of a shop when he heard the gunshots. He said as the police vehicle was approaching Victoria Street, the gunman opened fire and the police turned back and fired shots. According to the resident, approximately four shots were fired at the police vehicle
