The Ministry of Natural Resources yesterday said that 13 dredges and one dragger found to be operating illegally in the Kaieteur National Park (KNP) have been confiscated.
A release from the ministry said that an interdiction exercise was carried out at an area near the Amatuk Falls, Potaro/Siparuni where a total of 13 dredges and a dragger were found operating illegally.
“These were confiscated and removed, the mining camps dismantled and all equipment including an excavator taken to the Mines Station at Mahdia. The owners of the seized equipment are to visit the Mines Station
