In an effort to increase the magnitude of the upcoming Mayor’s Cup football tournament, tournament coordinator Lennox Arthur has increased the number of participating clubs from 20 to 24.
The four teams that will be joining the fray are West Demerara units Beavers and Eagles as well as East Coast of Demerara sides Buxton Stars and Beterverwagting (BV)/Triumph United.
Coordinator of the Annual Mayor’s Cup tournament Lennox Arthur, during an invited comment said, “We needed to bring in some teams as everyone wants to play. Everyone calling from all over the country, so we must give them a chance to play as everyone wants to play football.
“All we have to do is organize the event in such a way so that everyone will be pleased.
