The Cyril Potter College of Education (CPCE) yesterday reflected on the development and achievements of Guyana’s education sector 50 years ago.

Giving a brief history of education in Guyana, Deputy Chief Education Officer, Donna Chapman said that when Guyana obtained its Independence, there were 358 schools, 151 of which were government owned, with the others belonging to churches and private bodies, GINA reported.
