Trinidad jolted by quake

(Trinidad Express) Trinidad was jolted by an earthquake at daybreak today. The epicentre of the tremor was located off Trinidad’s south coast.

According to the University of the West Indies (UWI) Seismic Research Centre SRC, its instruments recorded the quake at 5.54a.m. Magnitude 4.2, at a depth of 40 kilometres.

The SRC asked that citizens say whether they felt the quake, and several from areas in central and south Trinidad reported feeling a jolt, with some saying their furniture swayed.

At 6.14a.m on Saturday, the SRC also recorded an earthquake off Trinidad’s north coast with a Magnitude 3.6.
