Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo at a meeting with the executives of the Guyana Inter Religious Television (GIRTV) urged that there must be an uncompromising standard of fairness and transparency in the management and operation of the inter-faith television station, a release from his office said today.

The release said that the GIRTV executive members in attendance – Pastor Ronald McGarrell, Secretary Jennifer Dewar, Treasurer Neil Bacchus and Director Wendell Jeffrey – expressed their full agreement in this regard and briefed the Prime Minister on the plans for the non-profit company.

GIRTV was established in 2012 with a view to managing and operating an inter-faith television station. The television station has not yet been realized for a number of reasons.

The release said that Nagamootoo however committed his and the coalition government’s full support to the establishment of the inter-faith television station in Guyana, recalling that he had taken a similar position while serving in a different administration.
