Former President Bharrat Jagdeo (right) has urged the FAO’s Committee on Forests (COFO) to play a more active role in the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals related to rests and food security, a release from his office said today. He asserted that COFO being the largest repository of knowledge in the world on forests must be involved in the design of forest mitigation initiatives and the intermediation of climate funds. He was speaking as the Chairman of the opening ceremony of the Fifth World Forest Week in Rome, Italy.
