Republic Bank sponsoring music literacy programme

Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited is once again sponsoring the 2016 edition of the Right Start Pan Minors Music Literacy Programme.

This is the 8th consecutive year the Bank is joining with the Ministry of Education’s, National School of Music to host this programme.

A release yesterday from the Ministry of Education said that the Managing Director of Republic Bank, Richard Sammy recently presented a cheque valuing $1.3M to the Minister within the Ministry of Education,  Nicolette Henry at her Main Street Office.

This year’s programme will include seven schools, namely Diamond Secon-dary, Stewartville Secondary, Bladen Hall Secondary, Tutorial High, Tagore Memorial, Berbice High and Bartica Secondary. Participants from the PYARG will also be benefiting. This year’s programme will benefit a total of 135 students.

Since the start of the Republic Bank Right Start Pan Minors Music Literacy Programme 700 students have benefited and there has been a notable increase of school bands and participation in the annual steel band competition, the release said.
