A 20-year-old man was yesterday sentenced to 12 months’ jail time, after he admitted to a magistrate that he broke into a shop and stole chicken and other items.
Between July 5 and July 6, at St Ignatius, Central Rupununi, Tiberius Spencer of Sand Creek Village, Central Rupununi, broke and entered the shop of Sharon Ann Fredrick, and stole two boxes of chicken, 23 pounds of pork, 30 pounds of fish and other items, all totalling $166,060. The young man, who appeared in court without legal representation pleaded guilty to the charge.
