According to a press release from the Guyana Police Force, additionally, on Friday, 28th August, 2016, the closing ceremony will be held for a summer programme which was held at the Bartica and Agatash Community Centres and attracted in excess of 120 youths from Bartica and other nearby villages.

The release stated that the youths were engaged in learning life skills such as the production of art and craft and floral arrangements, and they were exposed to many interactive sessions.

This programme is part of the Social Crime Prevention Initiative which, according to the release, aims to bring the Police and communities together by enhancing their relationship, and in a more focused sense tackling crime at a grass root stage whilst providing support for the social and educational development of youths across Guyana.
