Around 3 pm yesterday, this container truck, which was heading towards the city, suffered a brake malfunction on the East Coast Demerara Public Road at Le Ressouvenir. Its driver Shane Singh was able to manouvre it to a halt. Aside from a leaking fuel tank, under which a bucket was placed, and slight damage to the body of the vehicle, the only other visible impact was the long line of backed up traffic along the roadway. Luckily, neither the driver nor his accompanying porter was injured and road users in the vicinity of the truck at the time of the incident escaped harm as well.
