The artist and his creation: Artist Winfield James crafted this paper mache bust of late former president Linden Forbes Sampson Burnham as an exhibit for the recently held Biennial Delegates Congress of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR).
Burnham’s favourite colour, purple, was used for his shirt and to drape the table which the bust was placed on.
James told Stabroek News that he was motivated to create the piece as he felt that it would complement the interior décor of the Congress Place auditorium and also evoke memories of the party’s founder. He informed that it took him just one day to complete and he was pleased by the compliments he received from attendees.
