First Lady, Sandra Granger was today paid a courtesy call by Ushers of the National Cultural Centre at her office to discuss an  initiative by the group to provide care and cheer to elderly residents in Guyana, particularly those who live in senior citizen homes and other care facilities, a release from the Ministry of the Presidency said.

The group stated that the purpose of their visit was mainly to seek assistance from the Office of the First Lady since Mrs. Granger has focused her programme of work on vulnerable populations, including the elderly.   According to representative of the group, Glynis John, their main focus is, “to extend our care not only at the Cultural Centre but also [in] homes because we saw how much assistance the elderly need and that is what really motivated us to help others,” she said.
