Former sports reporter admitted to the bar

Newly admitted attorney Kiev Chesney flanked by his mother and uncle at the High Court.

Kiev Chesney, a former sports reporter, was on Friday admitted to the bar before Justice James Bovell Drakes.

Chesney’s petition was presented by attorney Ronald Burch Smith.

Chesney graduated with his Bachelor of Law’s Degree from the University of Guyana in 2014 and received his Legal Education Certificate this year from the Hugh Wooding Law School. While there, he served as President of the law school’s Student Representative Council  from 2015 to 2016.

The young attorney thanked his parents for their support, crediting his father, who he stated always challenged his ability.
