The mayoralty of Corriverton changed hands on Friday last, when a re-election to break Thursday’s tied vote saw former Deputy Mayor Krishnand Jaichand, winning with nine votes out of 15; former Mayor Ganesh Gangadin secured the other six votes.
On Thursday, 14 councillors had voted and Jaichand and Gangadin had secured seven votes each.
