Businessman shot, robbed of $4M in Plaisance after leaving bank

A Plaisance businessman was yesterday afternoon shot and robbed of $4 million, less than one hour after he and a friend had visited a city bank and were about to enter his Prince William Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara house.

Stabroek News understands that during the incident, which occurred around 15:20 hrs, Kenneth Earle, 39, a businessman who operates a minibus service was shot twice in his leg. He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where an x-ray was done and was subsequently transferred to another hospital. His condition is listed as stable.

His friend, Sekou Musa, 32, a manager attached to Qualfon and of Triumph, ECD, who had some of the cash in his possession, managed to scale the back fence of the premises and escape the bandits.
