GDF to receive Chinese military team

Tomorrow, the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) will welcome to Guyana, a six- member Chinese military delegation headed by Senior Colonel Lu Zhongling.

A release from the Guyana Defence Force said that while in Guyana, the delegation is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on GDF Chief of Staff, Brigadier George Lewis at Defence Headquarters and President David Granger at the Ministry of the Presidency.

Immediately following the courtesy call on the GDF Chief of Staff, representatives of the Force and the delegation will engage in the signing of the Military Aid Gratis agreement between the two militaries.

The Chinese delegation will also visit and tour the GDF Coast Guard Ship Hinds where its members will meet and interact with female Officers, Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) and Ratings, before joining in the Christmas festivities at that Base.  The delegation is scheduled to depart Guyana on December 20.
