Jamaica remained unbeaten in the Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) u16 Male Championships, squeaking past Trinidad and Tobago by a 72-64 score line on Tuesday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

Jalen Menzies top scored for the Jamaicans with 23 points while forcing six steals. He was assisted by Samora Williams who recorded a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds while Jabari Cunningham contributed 11 points.

On the other side, Jordan Versad registered a game high 27 points, with the next best scorer for the twin islands republic coming in the form of Theo Devoren with 18 points.

Although the Jamaicans seized control of the matchup following a 22-9 first period, the Trinidadians battled back in the second stanza, outscoring their opponent 21-14 to cut the deficit to 36-30 heading into halftime. Jamaica’s small remained intact at the end of the third period as both teams recorded 18 points to enter the final period at 54-48. The Jamaicans eventually sealed the win as they outhustled the Trinidadians by an 18-16 margin.
