According to a release, the items will be used to further the Association’s agenda locally.

The release went on to state that Guyana has received a special invitation from the Barbados Weightlifting Association, in recognition of our 50th anniversary observances, to participate in a Special 50 Anniversary Tournament.

Hence, the GAWA will be staging a lift-off on November 9 at the Michael Parris Fitness Center in the National Park from 17:00h.

The lift-off will be used as a yardstick to short list a team which will be representing Guyana at Barbados’ 50th anniversary weightlifting championship, scheduled for November 24 to 28.
