Fruta Conquerors ended the first round unbeaten in the Georgetown leg of the NAMILCO U17 Football Championship, crushing Alpha United by a 4-0 scoreline yesterday at the Tucville Community ground.
The home side opened the scoring through Roy Gill in the 27th minute while Nicholas McArthur made it 2-0 in the 62nd minute. Reshawn Ritch added to the score five minutes onward before Jermain Garrett sealed the result in the 69th minute.
Meanwhile, the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) squeaked past Santos by a 1-0 margin compliments of an own goal in the 29th minute. Also, Pele defeated Sunburst Camptown via a walkover.
In the East Bank of Demerara section at the Grove Community ground, Grove Hi-Tech defeated Circuit Ville Jaguars by a 2-0 margin. Jacobs Garnette and Rasheed Evans scored in the 58th and 72nd minute respectively.
The final fixtures of the first round for the East Bank section will conclude on Saturday November 26th at the same venue. Diamond United will oppose Circuit Ville Jaguars from 11:00hrs while Kuru Kururu Warriors will lock horns with Agricola from 13:00hrs.
