Hopetown Steelers upset Smythfield Rockers 49-45 in overtime when the Berbice Amateur Basketball Association (BABA) sanctioned Anamayah championships continued Sunday. Locked at 45-45 at the end of the fourth quarter at the Vryman’s Erven Court in New Amsterdam, Hopetown clinched the unlikely win by outscoring Rockers 4-0 in the two minute overtime interval.
Prior to the conclusion, the Steelers took the early lead with the first period ending 17-15.
