Not wanting to let the cat out of the bag before the event is launched at the Giftland Mall on Sunday, Ramsey-Gonsalves told Stabroek Sport yesterday that this year’s event with Kares Engineering Inc. being its main sponsor, promises to be the biggest ever.

“It is expected to be even bigger than the first two. With 36 athletes ready to compete for that top spot of Fittest Male or Female in Guyana and six teams vying for fittest team in Guyana.”

Ramsey-Gonsalves added that the top three males and females will be rewarded with cash incentives while the first team will receive the spoils.

This year’s fixture also comes with a twist with local celebrities like Reon King, Yannick Charles, Vanilla, Kerwin Bollers, Nurriyih Gerrard and others competing in the Scotiabank Celebrity Charity Challenge. The celebrities will challenge themselves in the name of charities. Help and Shelter and the Ruimveldt Children’s Home will be the beneficiaries.

The launch is scheduled for 16:30hrs on The Strip and the public is invited. See you there.
