Guyana Defence Force (GDF) edged Fruta Conquerors 2-1 to seal their final’s berth when the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) League Leaders knockout tournament commenced on Sunday at the Tucville Community Ground.
The army unit overcame a 1-0 deficit to clinch the result, outmaneuvering the home side who were simply abject in the second half of proceedings as, they failed to record a shot on target.
Konata Manning gave the hosts the lead in the 25th minute, uncorking a brilliant freekick into the top left hand corner from 30 yards out in the centre of the field.
