A good night’s rest

In last week’s column, I dealt with how a lack of sleep can affect one’s fitness goals. In fact, it affects every aspect of life, particularly health and productivity. At the request of a co-worker, Basil, this week I am addressing part two of the topic on the flip side: the benefits of a good night’s rest.

Proper nutrition, hydration and rest are important to everyone, but more so to athletes, who are constantly burning energy. Whether you are an athlete or just an average person pursuing fitness goals, you must think of rest as actual, proper sleep rather than just a period of relaxation.
