Construction worker charged over $1.4M Sheriff St robbery

A construction worker was yesterday remanded on two counts of armed robbery after a city court heard that there are more charges pending against him.

Lennox Kurt, 33, denied both charges after they were read to him by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.

The first charge stated that on September 20, at Sheriff Street, while in the company of others and armed with a gun, Kurt robbed Dianna Andrews of a Samsung Galaxy Edge 7, valued at $200,000, along with other items having a total value of $1,421,339, which were the property of Cellular Planet Incorporated.
