Defending champion Sparta Boss, Gold is Money, Future Stars and Leopold Street earned their berths to today’s [Thursday] quarterfinal following round of 16 victories on Tuesday in the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Georgetown Championship.
The Spartans, who headlined the evening’s proceedings in front of another mammoth crowd at the National Cultural Centre Tarmac, were made to work in their matchup against Norton Street eventually prevailing by a 2-0 scoreline.
The silence was deafening during the clash as Norton Street held the titlist scoreless in the first half. However, their resistance was broken in the second period as Gregory Richardson recorded goals in the 24th and 25th minute respectively
