Welder remanded for $500,000 theft, possession of 37g of ganja

A 22-year-old welder, was on Wednesday charged with allegedly stealing $524,000 worth of clothing and for the possession of cannabis.

Kevin George pleaded not guilty to both charges.

It was alleged that on 4th-5th August, 2017, at Cornhill Street, George stole 15 short jeans, 48 long pants, 18 round neck tee-shirts, 15 American Eagle shirts with collars, and two pairs of Timberland slippers, having a total value of $524,000, all the property of Devon McAllister.

It was also alleged that on September 16th, 2017, at Breda and Leopold streets, George was arrested for being in the possession of 37 grammes of cannabis for trafficking.

While George was granted $135,000 bail for the robbery charge, he was remanded on the narcotics charge

Both matters will be called again on October 4th.
