Five T&T soldiers charged with rape of colleague

(Trinidad Express) Five soldiers appeared in the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with the rape of a female colleague last October.

The officers – Michael Esdelle, Reinelo Cozier, Kendell Caton, Gabriel Joseph and Aleem Khan, appeared before Senior Magistrate Nanette Forge-John in the Seventh Court and were each granted bail in the sum of $100,000.

They were represented by defence attorneys Larry Williams, Daniel Khan, Criston J Williams and Joseph Phillip.

The offence is alleged to have taken place on October 29, at Crow’s Nest Jetty, located at Teteron Barracks in Chaguaramas.

They will next appear in court on May 9.
