President commits to helping council for disabilities groups: Presi-dent David Granger on Friday committed to personally helping the Guy-ana Council of Organisa-tions for Persons with Disabilities to fulfil its mandate. Granger’s pledge was made when he met with members of the body, according to the Ministry of the Presidency, which said that they sought his assistance in carrying out their mandate. It noted that the team, which was led by President of the organisation Leon Walcott and included Cecil Morris and Theresa Pemberton, was asked by the President to prepare a budget, which he said he will personally present to Cabinet for its consideration. The ministry said the Guyana Council of Organisations for Persons with Disabilities currently has a membership of 20 organisations and it interfaces directly with persons with disabilities across the country.
