Barnwell keeps Lower Corentyne at bay 

Christopher Barnwell stroked an unbeaten 73 on day one of the second round of the Guyana Cricket Board/Jaguars Three-Day League competition as Georgetown ended reached 158 for eight, trailing Lower Corentyne by 11 runs at the close of play yesterday at the Lusignan Community Centre Ground.

The day began with city side winning the toss and inviting Lower Corentyne to bat first.

Lower Corentyne reached 87 for six at the end of the first session and Georgetown went the lunch the happier of the two sides.

Jason Sinclair (19), national under – 19 middle order batsman, Kevlon Anderson (11), Seon Hetymyer (16) and Devon Clements all got starts but failed to capitalise.
