Chanderpaul a welcome headache for national selectors

The national cricket selectors have made one change to the surging Guyana Jaguars 13-man squad for their third round encounter against second place Leeward Islands Hurricanes which begins Thursday at Warner Park, St Kitts.

Akshaya Persaud, who emerged as the leading run scorer in the 2017 Jaguars three – day Franchise League after scoring 523 runs including two centuries with his highest score of 151, makes way for 43- year-old Shivnarine Chanderpaul.

Persaud, perhaps, can consider himself unlucky to be dropped without being given an opportunity while Test discard, Rajendra Chandrika who endured a couple of failures, has been retained.
