Ford accredited as ambassador to Finland

 

On April 24, 2018, Ambassador John Deep Ford (left) presented his Letters of Credence to President Sauli Niinistö of the Republic of Finland and was accredited as Ambassador of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana to the Republic of Finland.   

A release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday said that Ford is concurrently accredited to Switzerland and was recently appointed chair of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agriculture talks. Since September 2016, he has served as Guyana’s Ambassador to the UN in Geneva, the WTO, and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization.

The release added that Guyana and Finland often cooperate through CARICOM and the Association of Caribbean States.    Guyana and Finland established diplomatic relations on April 2, 1979.  (Ministry of Foreign Affairs photo)
