German’s Soup is set for its Brooklyn, New York opening tomorrow.
A release yesterday from the local restaurant said that it will be opening at 793 Utica Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, USA. The well-known German’s Restaurant first opened in 1960 in Georgetown and has been family owned since.
The release said that the New York City opening of German’s Soup (www.germanssoup.com) is spearheaded by Clinton Urling, the son of German’s founder, the late Hubert `German’ Urling. The opening will be the first outlet in the United States for the company.
“We are looking to expand our restaurant operations to New York City to serve the large population of Guyanese immigrants, many of whom are former customers of the original German’s Restaurant in Georgetown,” says Clinton Urling. “The local Brooklyn and Queens Guyanese communities have generated a buzz about our launch and are delighted to once again have access to their favourite Guyanese dishes, especially our famous soups.”
The release said that German’s Soup occupies a bright corner space on the busy corner of Utica Avenue and Linden Boulevard in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. It will offer predominantly takeout meals. Photos of the original German’s Restaurant and founder Hubert Urling Sr. adorn the walls.
The restaurant will be opened daily, serving Monday – Thursday 10am – 8pm, Friday – Saturday 10am – 9pm and Sunday 11am – 6pm.
