Caribbean silver girls under 15 silver medallist Abosaide Cadogan was the centre of attention on the opening night of the 2018 edition of the Farfan & Mendes Junior Skill level tournament after she notched up a hard-fought win over Lucas Jonas last evening at the Georgetown Club Squash Court.
Cadogan was made to work for her category B triumph, defeating her opponent 3-2. She took the first set which was tied at 5 all, 11-7 but lost the second 9-11 after leading 6-0.
Cadogan quickly found her groove again by winning the third 11-6. Jonas, however, stuck to his straps and sent the match into the fifth set by taking the fourth set 14-12. Cadogan, though, used her experience and pulled out all the stops in the final game to clinch it 11-4 and her 3-2 win.
