No bail for accused housebreakers

Two men were yesterday remanded to prison after they were accused of breaking into two homes and stealing over $400,000 in cash and other items.

Rocky Harvey, 21, and Levy Hughes, 27, were faced with the charges when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in Georgetown.

It is alleged that between November 27th and November 28th, at La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara, they broke and entered the home of Shaundel Chichester and stole a $160,000 iPhone, an $80,000 Amazon tablet, a $20,000 ZTE phone, a $36,000 pair of gold earrings, a $30,000 gold chain, US$1, $4,300 in cash, and other articles, with the total value of the stolen articles being $334,800.
