Hundreds of supporters of the APNU+AFC Government bore the brunt of the afternoon sun today as they gathered in front of Parliament Building to show their support as the Government took on the Opposition to debate the recently laid no-confidence motion.

Armed with their placards bearing achievements of the government over the last three years and decked out with yellow and green shirts, the supporters lined off the northern section of Brickdam. They paid keen attention as Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo kicked off the debate which they could hear from the road.

The suppliers waved and cheered, and even jeered loudly and sporadically as Jagdeo attacked the government on various issues.

The supporters said that they had gathered to show the opposition that the people of the country and the APNU+AFC supporters are still “confident in their government” and that this current administration has what it takes to steer the country to the next level.

The supporters gathered as early as 1:30 pm and said that they were going to stay as long as possible, even until the end of the debate.
