Venezuelan remanded over immigration fraud charge, two others fined

Two Venezuelans were on Friday fined for failing to present themselves to an immigration officer after entering Guyana, while a third was remanded to prison on the same charge, after a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf by the court.

Feito Jose Perez Reyez, 27, Alexis Jose Campero Medina, 30, and Aldrondro Rojo Belia, 25, were accused of failing to present themselves to an immigration officer after entering Guyana by sea at Imbotero, Barima-Waini, on December 22, 2018.

The charges were read to them at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
