Angoy’s Avenue brothers remanded over robbery

Two brothers from Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam were last week remanded to prison for robbery under arms when they appeared at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court.

The men, Parmanand Samaroo, 23, self-employed, of Lot 16, Ogleton Dam, Angoy’s Avenue, and Ravendranauth Samaroo, 26, a pork knocker of Timmers Dam, Angoy’s Avenue, faced two charges of robbery under arms when they appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore.

The first charge read that the men in company of another, on Wednesday February 7, in Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam gained entry armed with a dangerous and offensive weapon, a knife and robbed Jimmy Mohabir of three gold chains worth $500,000, four gold chains worth $482,000 and $350,000 in cash, for a total value of $1,332,000.
