Mabaruma carpenter jailed for escaping from cops

A Mabaruma carpenter was yesterday sentenced to a year in jail after pleading guilty to escaping from police custody.

The charge stated that Edgar Daniels, while being in custody, escaped from the Mabaruma Police Station compound on February 24th, 2018.

Daniels pleaded guilty to the charge and told the court that from the day he was arrested he was given nothing to eat. He said he escaped because he was hungry.
