Trevone Giles convicted of raping 15-year-old girl

Convicted yesterday afternoon for raping a 15-year-old girl, Trevone Giles now faces sentencing pending the presentation of a probation report requested by his attorney.

Giles was convicted on one of two counts of rape of a child under the age of 16.

After about two hours of deliberations, the 12-member mixed jury returned with a unanimous verdict, finding Giles guilty of raping the young lady on January 14, 2016.

He was, however, acquitted on the second count which alleged that he raped the girl three days after.
