A city magistrate yesterday found that a prima facie case has been made out against Colin Denny and Malika Softleigh, who are accused of cannabis possession. The cannabis had been found in gas cylinders.
The charge against Denny and Softleigh, both of Lot 41 Charles and Howes streets, Charlestown states that the two, between November 14th, and November 15th, 2017, at Lot 6 ‘C’ Tucville Terrace, trafficked 57.8608 grammes of cannabis.
During yesterday’s court hearing, before trial Magistrate Judy Latchman, Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit Prosecutor, Konyo Sandiford presented submissions in response to the defendants’ attorney, James Bond’s, no-case submission.
Subsequently, Magistrate Latchman told the court that a prima facie case had been made out against both defendants for the offence and that they would be called upon to lead a defence.
Attorney Bond then requested a short adjournment in the matter.
This request was granted and the matter adjourned to May 8.
