Technician remanded over robbery, wounding of undercover police

A 21-year-old technician was yesterday remanded to prison, after being accused of robbing and stabbing a police officer during an incident at an Alberttown nightclub last Saturday.

It is alleged that Keston Duke, of 29 Bent Street, Werk-en-Rust, in the company of others, robbed Julius Bowlin, a police officer, of a gold chain valued $21,000 and a pistol with six rounds of ammunition, valued at $125,000, property of the Guyana Police Force. The robbery is alleged to have occurred on December 15 at a club located at Lot 92 Second Street, Alberttown.

Duke was also charged with wounding Bowlin during the robbery.
