Chang to head security portfolio, Clarke takes finance in new Holness Cabinet

(Jamaica Observer) KINGSTON, Jamaica —  Prime Minister Andrew Holness, after two years in office, yesterday shuffled his Cabinet.

Among the significant changes is that of Deputy Leader of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), Dr Horace Chang, who will now replace Robert Montague as security minister.

Montague, who has had many challenges in that portfolio, ranging from the used car deal scandal to the Palisadoes foul-up, has been moved to the Ministry of Transport and Mining. Meanwhile, newly-elected Member of Parliament for St Andrew North West, Dr Nigel Clarke will now take the helm as Minister of Finance and Public Service.

Fayval Williams, who was State Minister in the ministry is now believed to have been upgraded to minister without portfolio in the ministry.

Former Finance Minister Audley Shaw will be the new Minister of Industry Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries.

Karl Samuda and Mike Henry have both been appointed as Ministers without portfolio responsibility in the Office of the Prime Minister, OPM.
